Father's Day gift ideas
Looking for a Berkshire restaurant to celebrate Father's Day or another special occasion? If you are fortunate enough to be able to spend time with the special man in your life this Father's Day, we wish you a day filled with love and laughter (and of course, delicious food!)
Here are a few of our top suggestions to make dad feel special this Father's Day!
1. Time together
After so much time apart from our loved ones, give your dad the gift of time this Father's Day. Whether you decide to book Father's Day lunch with us, dine out somewhere else in London or cook up a storm at home, appreciate the moment and enjoy the time together.
2. Gift vouchers
With restaurants, shops and entertainment venues now open, treat dad to a gift voucher so he can look forward to something he'll enjoy.
3. Plan a spa day
A spa day isn't just for mum. Gentlemen can also benefit from a day of mindfulness and relaxation. Book a spa day for dad at a health club where he can try the fitness facilities, relax in the pool and sauna, and experience a holistic treatment or two. Most health clubs and spa hotels also offer a cream tea or traditional afternoon tea to top off the experience.
4. Beer tasting
There are many operators of food and drink tours and wine or beer tasting in Hungerford and nearby. Just Google 'beer tasting near me'. It's a great day out and educational at the same time. Plus, it tastes great and you can buy more for later.
5. A golf day
Whether your father likes to golf on a rare occasion or is a complete novice, a golf day can be a great day out. It's something you can do together or perhaps treat dad and a friend to a day out.
6. Book a performance
With theatres now open around the country, why not treat dad or the special man in your life to a theatre experience in June. There are some outstanding performances to choose from - something for every taste.
7. Book a cooking class
Can't cook, won't cook? Loves to cook? A cooking class can be great fun, very amusing and also teach a thing or two. Check out our Kintbury cooking demonstrations from Chef Scott! We'll post them on our Berkshire food blog as they happen.
8. Plan a trip
Are you one for big holidays with extended family, all the generations accommodated together? Or perhaps you've never tried it. This year, why not consider a staycation, even for a weekend, and enjoy some quality time together. There are so many beautiful places to see in the UK coast and countryside, or perhaps even a city break!
9. A cinema movie night
Now we have surely all spent more time than ever before indulging in TV over the last 12 to 18 months. Play on his love of film and treat dad to a cinema trip or opt for a voucher so he can choose his own movie night. If you book it as a father/son or father/daughter date night, why not book an early showing and head over to Blandy's afterwards for dinner or afternoon tea.
10. Go fishing
Many men enjoyed a spot of fishing in their younger years and many still do. Treat dad to a guilt-free escape to a new spot and maybe even buy him a couple of supplies for the trip. Why not join him and let him impart his pearls of fishing wisdom. Dads love a teaching moment. There are places to fish near Kintbury and also further afield should you wish to make a weekend of it.
Whatever you decide to do this Father's Day, take it all in and enjoy every moment. If dad cannot be with you this year, then reflect on happy memories and perhaps mark the occasion by filling your day with something dad would have loved.
